Job Purpose The Western Cape Government is seeking to employ a qualified Social Work Policy Developer to develop, assess, implement and maintain social work policies. This position is based in Cape Town, Head Office, Children and Families, Child Protection Unit.
Minimum Requirements Formal tertiary qualification in Social Work (e.g. Bachelor of Social Work) that allows professional registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions; Compulsory registration with SACSSP as a Social Worker; A minimum of 8 years appropriate experience in social worker after registration as Social Worker with the SACSSP.

Key Performance Areas Develop, implement and maintain social work policies; Keep up to date with new developments in the social work field; Monitor and study the social services legal and policy framework continuously; Research and development; Perform the administrative functions required in the unit.

Remuneration Grade 1: R 323 178 – R 362 106 per annum (OSD)
Grade 2: R 384 165 – R 516 279 per annum (OSD)

Note on remuneration:
Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc.
MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed.
Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
