Civil Team Leader

Our client based in Western Cape is looking for a Civil Team Leader to co-ordinate the team, and is required to be involved and supportive of any day-to-day decisions.
Communicating, assigning team tasks, recognizing, addressing and resolving Issues/problems among / between team members.
Maintaining work standards and outlining behavioral expectations to ensure team morale and productivity

Education and Minimum Requirements:



  • Grade 12

  • 3 years Telecommunications civil work experience and knowledge

  • Knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications industry

  • Knowledge and understanding the requirements of the OHSA, as well as Construction Health & Safety Regulations

  • Technical knowledge of telecommunications networks

  • Must be computer literate

Responsibilities:



  • Financial Management:

  • Adhere to set project budget

  • Abide by the set time scales

  • Adhere to Company policies and departmental procedures

  • Ensure all Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to at all times

  • Compile Health and Safety documentation as per site requirement

  • Undertake regular Health and Safety and Quality checks on site every 48 hours and record findings in the site diary

  • Quality Control

  • Accountable for ensuring that the completed work meets quality standards: -

  • This Includes: - On-site assessment prior to commencing work to ensure that the job is ready, and addressing any concerns

  • Overseeing the execution of the work, including quality and production, ensuring that the team works to job specifications and follows the plans.

  • Inspecting and measuring completed work

  • Administration: -

  • Accountable for the preparation of reports.

  • This includes: - Maintaining site foreman’s log and site reports

  • Preparation of daily production records

  • Reporting on work progress

  • Daily time keeping & reporting

  • Worker violation reports

  • Recommending personnel actions such as hiring, releasing, promotions and discipline

  • Maintain professional and product knowledge

  • Develop own competencies required for daily functions

  • Keeping up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job

  • Client and vendor management

  • Professional communication to our client and contractor base

  • Providing professional client services

  • Liaise with sub-contractor throughout the project and collect necessary documentation
