Business Development Manager

Our client based in Cape Town is looking for a Business Development Manager to develop new business opportunities within both the existing client base and new business opportunities

Education and Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years in ICT related industry

  • At least 3 of which is in a Senior Business Development Manager role

  • Tertiary education, preferably in a sales and marketing field

  • Additional qualifications towards management or technical degrees

  • Knowledge of Business Continuity and Resilience practices will be an advantage

  • Own transport and valid driver’s license

  • Flexibility to work after normal working hours

  • Good work ethics


  • Good relationships and networking skills

  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills

  • Proficient in communicating with and presenting to the C suite of clients

  • Proficient in persuading and influencing

  • Good presentation skills

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets


  • To ensure growth in existing client base

  • To identify and sign on new clients

  • Responsible for entire sales cycle including but not limited to: tenders, proposals, pricing, and negotiation and finalization of contracts

  • To ensure that agreed financial and growth targets are met in line with set targets

  • To act as a trusted advisor to clients and prospective clients for all BCM related services, including a key focus on all of company Service offerings and others, as and when they become applicable

  • Collaboratively, with the Service Manager, selectively identify, qualify and manage opportunities within the existing account base and opportunities for new products sets

  • To accurately complete and update the designated account plans on an ongoing basis with regards to sales and new opportunities

  • Compile and update the monthly / weekly / daily reports on sales pipeline

  • Review and track progress compared to Sales targets on a quarterly basis

  • Establish sales goals and develop plans to achieve them

  • Work closely with the support team from other service areas to generate new leads via vendors and partners

  • Understand competitors in the market, the company’s end to end market position and identify event opportunities and participate accordingly

  • Provide timely feedback to the GM: Sales regarding performance, sales activity reports and account strategy concerns
