Divisional Funding Manager

A Divisional Funding Manager vacancy is available at our Client Wits Health Consortium in the Department of Ezintsha at their central office in Parktown, JHB.

Ezintsha are looking for an innovative, investigative, driven individual who is committed to social change in South Africa.

Background


Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited ("WHC") is a wholly owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences.
WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives.
In addition WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof.

  • Ezintsha is a group of South African academics and health professionals who work with partners around the world.
    We apply new technology to health-related problems, and work to extend access to effective drugs in order for quality health care and medicine to be provided to everyone.
    Ezintsha is a newly formed sub-division of Wits Reproductive Health & HIV Institute, which is part of the University of the Witwatersrand, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.


Key performance areas:



  • Completion of high-quality funding reporting, budgeting and planning

  • Establishment of business development systems

  • Oversight and capability building of the Business Development Intern.

  • Provide support to the finance team to ensure compliance with donor and audit requirements

  • Provide support to ensure streamlined administration in line with Ezintsha strategies and priorities.


Required minimum education, training and experience



  • BCom degree in business management, administration, operations management or similar field, or demonstrated equivalent experience

  • At least 7 years’ work experience as a finance or grant manager in a donor-funded environment

  • Familiarity with business and financial principles and practices

  • Advanced IT skills, specifically MS Excel and other MS Office packages

  • Outstanding organisational, written and oral communication skills

  • Aptitude for problem solving and for getting things done right

  • Ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks and deadlines and manage competing priorities within a small team environment.
    An excellent sense of humour is a must.

  • Driver’s licence and own transport.
